Mayor Alvin Brown is alerting local Jacksonville and national news channels about the dangers of Tropical Storm Beryl. The mayor is urging all resident and visitors to stay out of the ocean and beaches area. He is also requesting that residents call 9-1-1 for any downed power lines--do not approach the lines because they could still be live. Mayor Brown also urges drivers to stay off the roads unless if absolutely necessary, and also asks drivers not to drive through standing water because it could cause great bodily harm due to the depth and danger associated with it.
• Citizens are asked to report ALL storm related damage to 904-630-CITY (2489) -- blocked roads; damage to buildings; downed trees; flooding.
• Citizens are asked to report ALL power outages to JEA, the local power utility, at 904-665-6000 -- crews worked overnight, and additional crews are coming online this morning
