Selecting the motor for the jointer from the two options I have on hand. Both are powerful enough to drive it, but I would have preferred to use the pump motor and keep the big one for my new table saw.
Two plywood side panels make up the main structure of the jointer, and I cut those out to size and edge band the top and bottom with solid maple. The finished size for these is 10" high and 48" long.
